Recently revealing that modeling was never her true passion, Cara Delevingne confirmed that she always wanted to act.

Delevingne told the Mirror that ever since she was in her adolescence she had dreams of being an actress.

“The first time I went on stage, I just wanted to be an entertainer, a performer,” she said, referring to her childhood.

Looks like Delevingne's dreams are coming true because on Tuesday night she went to a screening for "Timeless," a short TV film where she makes her acting debut.

“It’s all I wanted, so doing this show is me living a dream," she said about the TV gig.

Although acting is Delevingne's passion, she is thankful that modeling was a stepping stone.

"I prefer acting to modelling. Modeling is where I started and I’ll never turn my back on it, I thank it for everything I’ve done now," she said. "Without that I wouldn’t be here now, but it’s not my love, acting is my love.”

Delevingne might have a ton of acting opportunities now, but in the past the offers were slim to none.

“The rejection. It’s a tough thing to get over. That, for me, was the worst thing. I started auditioning for movies before I started modelling but I couldn’t deal with the rejection," said the model. "When I got turned down for something it would take me weeks to get over it. Now I care, but it’s less of a hit.”

The future "Peter Pan" star also discussed how offers came her way just so she can take her clothes off.

“I already know. If I look at a script and I have to be naked there’s just things that I look for that I automatically know if I want to do it or not," said Delevingne. "It’s a fine line. If you want to work with a good director and be in a good cast but you have to do certain things you don’t want to do, do you cross that line or not?”

Her goal is to one day play a powerful woman like a superhero.

“Still today I think there is a lot to be said for women parts, there’s a lot more, stronger female parts that can be played, a lot more writing can be done for strong women," she said. "So maybe a strong female superhero, or just a female that is strong, who hasn’t been broken down, or have someone die, or be raped, or go through all of that to become strong. To be able to see that would be incredible.”
