Junior Dos Santos' injury has forced him out of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Brazil 3 Finale. 'Cigano' was scheduled to face Stipe Miocic in Sao Paolo, Brazil on May 31st.

The news was reported by Brazil's news outlet Globo, and was confirmed by FOX Sports. The recent turn of events has left the UFC in yet another predicament, leaving the organization scrambling for a last-minute replacement for Cigano.

There has been a wave of sudden changes in UFC card lineups as of late. Chael Sonnen was originally scheduled to face Wanderlei Silva for UFC 173, but was moved for the TUF Brazil 3 Finale, then was again moved for UFC 175.

As of posting time, the UFC has yet to release an official statement regarding the matter.

Junior Dos Santos was able to capture UFC heavyweight gold after stopping current champion Cain Velasquez at UFC's debut in FOX Sports in November 2011. He was able to defend his title once against another former champion Frank Mir, but was unable to do so in his second fight against Velasquez.

Since then, he has a win and a loss; against Mark Hunt and Cain Velasquez in a third title fight, respectively.

Currently ranked number three in the Top 10 heavyweight rankings, Cigano was aiming for another run at the title, but Junior Dos Santos' injury sidelined from the competition and has sent him back to the drawing board.

Junior Dos Santos' injury and forced leave of absence is just one of the major shake-ups in the UFC's Top 10 heavyweight rankings. Travis Browne, who is ranked number three, will be serving a 90-day medical suspension following his April 19 barnburner against current number one title contender Fabricio Werdum at UFC on FOX.

Number four-ranked heavyweight Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva will also be serving a nine-month suspension for failing a post-fight drug test after UFC Fight Night in December 2013, while Alistair Overeem, who is ranked number seven, is currently out indefinitely due to a shoulder injury.
