"American Horror Story" season 4 will premiere by October as FOX picked up the series anew, and this time Gabourey Sidibe is back along with the original covens although it's not yet clear whether their appearance will be recurring or a one-off.
Creator Ryan Murphy revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts, Denis O'Hare and Jamie Brewer will still be around after starring in "American Horror Story: Coven."
Gabourey Sidibe, however, was cast in another series ordered by FOX called "Empire." She will play opposite Terrence Howard whose character, Luscious Lyon, is about to take Empire Entertainment public.
With her FOX series, Gabourey Sidibe will end up as guest star for "American Horror Story" season 4 and it's not clear how that will impact the rest of the coven,wetpaint.com surmised.
"American Horror Story" season 4 called "Freak Show" revolves around the story of Jessica Lange's character, a German expat who manages and operates a sideshow of unique individuals in Jupiter, Florida in the 1950s.
Last May 1, Angela Bassett weighed in on her role in "American Horror Story" season 4 during an interview with Vulture.
"You know it's 'Freak Show,' so your mind begins to work. I had an opportunity to see [Murphy], and I knew it was going to be fabulous, and the writers are amazing, but you know a woman's curiosity. I said, 'Ryan, am I the bearded lady?'"
But no, she won't be the bearded lady, and won't be part of the conjoined twins either. She will, however, play a "more special role."
"American Horror Story" season 4 guest stars include Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy and Michael Chiklis.
Michael Chiklis revealed to Yahoo UK that he was "terrified" about the role he's going to play after it was pitched by Ryan Murphy.
"I can say that my heart was pounding. It is a freak show," he said. "But as actors, that's what we love to do."
