NBA Playoffs 2014: The Miami Heat, led by four-time MVP LeBron James, are now facing Paul Pierce and the Brooklyn Nets in the second round of the NBA playoffs 2014, after sweeping the Charlotte Bobcats in the first round. The Heat did not win a single game against the Nets in the regular season, but they now lead the Playoffs 2014 second round series with two games. Miami Heat superstar LeBron James did well to lead the Heat with 22 points in their 94-82 victory over the Nets. Chris Bosh added 18 points, and Dwayne Wade contributed 14 points, seven assists and seven rebounds despite having some struggles.
After the Nets defeated the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the NBA Playoffs 2014 and before facing the Heat, Paul Pierce was reported by Ethan J. Skolnick on Twitter to have ranked LeBron James as one of the two greatest players who ever played the game, and as the ultimate challenge. Skolnick's tweet is as follows: "Peirce: ‘I rank LeBron as 1 of the 2 greatest players 2 ever play the game... He's the ultimate challenge.'" Was this comment from Pierce a foreshadowing of the outcome of the tension-filled face-off between the Miami Heat and the Brooklyn Nets in the Playoffs 2014? Maybe or maybe not. The results will soon speak for themselves. But one thing is for sure: Paul Peirce knew exactly what he was talking about. LeBron James and the Miami Heat will definitely be a tough team to beat - the back to back champs are THE team to beat.
Incidentally Miami Heat Big Three (LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh) are yet to lose a playoff series while holding a two-to-nothing advantage. Whether or not Peirce and the Nets can break this trend this NBA Playoffs 2014 and make a comeback is still to be seen. Meanwhile, the Miami Heat are gearing up for a three-peat. Who do you think will come out on top for this year's NBA playoffs?
