Urijah Faber fights Alex Caceres at UFC 175, in a match where "The California Kid" seeks to vindicate himself from his previous loss while "Bruce Leeroy" aims to boost up his rankings.

The Urijah Faber fight is the latest addition to the main card line-up for the event headlined by reigning middleweight champion Chris Weidman as he defends his title against Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida.

"The Californa Kid" (30-7, 27 wins via stoppage) has been a prominent fixture in UFC main card bouts. His stint as the WEC featherweight champion has given him the experience he needed to further climb up to the top and compete with top-level fighters.

But after dropping the title to José Aldo, Urijah Faber moved down to bantamweight as he entered the UFC, where he is holding a 6-3 record.

In 2013 alone, he has fought four times, winning all fights. The only losses of his UFC career are from title fights against Dominick Cruz and twice against reigning champion Renan Barao.

Urijah Faber's last fight at UFC 169 was in February, for a championship rematch against Barao. The fight was marred with a slight controversy when renowned mixed martial arts referee Herb Dean stepped in to stop the fight amidst Faber's thumbs up signals to convey the message that he is doing fine and out of harm's way.

"The California Kid" felt that the fight was prematurely stopped, but like the fighter that he is, he has gotten back up and moved on.

A victory against Alex Caceres will put him back into the win column, and potentially another shot at the title in the near future.

Alex Caceres, on the other hand, will be fighting the biggest fight of his life against Urijah Faber. Since his appearance in the Ultimate Fighter reality show in 2010, he has had a string of wins and losses, until his most recent four-fight win streak.

He last fought Sergio Pettis, lightweight champion Anthony Pettis' brother, and won via a third round submission.

"Bruce Leeroy" extended an indirect challenge to Faber through the social networking site Twitter, in which "The California Kid" obliged.

A win for Alex Caceres against ranked #15 Pound for Pound fighter Urijah Faber will definitely move him up the bantamweight ladder, and will bring him closer to the most-coveted title shot.

UFC 175 is scheduled to take place on July 5, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
