Another "Supernatural" spinoff can be expected by fans after CW passed on the "Supernatural: Bloodlines" due to lacklustre reception. Network boss said that thestory for the future story arc is "still in the air."

Mark Pedowitz, president of CW, told reporters on Thursday that they still believe in the brand which makes it easier to decide to do another "Supernatural" spinoff.

"We had six really good pilots this year. We felt that 'Supernatural' [spinoff Bloodlines] just didn't quite get there, though we do know that people would come to it based on what we saw that night," Pedowitz said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The website said that the ratings for "Supernatural: Bloodlines" were not bad since it averaged over 2 million viewers on April 29.

Although the "Supernatural: Bloodlines" was one of the highest anticipated pilots this year, everybody assumed that it's going to be picked up as a series, according to Entertainment Weekly's Inside TV. But the reaction of the fans after watching the pilot was largely negative.

In fact, an informal viewers poll conducted by EW revealed that only one third of those viewers thought the "Supernatural" spinoff was worth to become a series.

"I've already spoken to the creator and the studio. They know that we want to develop once more next season, a Supernatural spinoff. What it is and what it isn't is still in the air," Mark Pedowitz said.

He also said, per THR, that the results of the discussions over the new "Supernatural" spinoff will be decided around June or July this year.

"Supernatual: Bloodlines" revolves around a mob war between monsters and caught in the middle are Dean and Sam, along with Ennis (Lucien Laviscount) who was thrust into the conflict after his fiancée was cut down after an encounter with a beast.
