Lebron James couldn't be bothered by trivial things like talking smack with an opponent when getting to the finals is the ultimate goal. Meanwhile, Pacers guard Lance Stephenson said he doesn't regret talking to reporters about his trash talking bothering the Miami Heat superstar who exploded for the game four win.
Lebron James in game four finished with 32 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals as the Miami Heat crushed the Indiana Pacers to take a commanding 3-1 lead.
"I don't need any motivation, I'm motivated enough trying to get back to the Finals," Lebron James told Sports Illustrated. "That's motivating enough. Being one of the leaders of this team, I have to do my job and do my part to help us win. That's what it's all about.
"Do I find him comical? Nah, I got a smirk out of it," he added.
Prior to game four, Pacers guard Lance Stephenson talked to reporters and bragged that he's getting under the skin of Lebron James a little bit because the Miami Heat superstar has been talking trash with him.
After the loss, Lance Stephenson was asked to re-evaluate his earlier statements regarding Lebron James and he said: "I have no regrets. I was just trying to play ball. I guess [James] stepped up and got the win. I can take the heat."
Pacers all-star forward Paul George, however, cautioned Lance Stephenson about "barking up the wrong tree."
"LeBron feeds off that kind of energy," he said per USA Today. "You can't tell me there's not one guy who talks trash to LeBron and sees him go for 40 or 50 points. You know he's more than capable of turning it up."
However, Paul George added that they are not backing away from anybody and fully supports Lance Stephenson's opinion about Lebron James.
