There is a new Daredevil in town as "Boardwalk Empire" star Charlie Cox will take on the role of Matt Murdock in the new Marvel Netflix series.
THR reports that Charlie Cox is set to play Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer by day and dangerous vigilante known as Daredevil by night. Charlie Cox is known for his role as Owen Sleater in HBO's crime drama "Boardwalk Empire" and appeared in many movies such as "Stardust", "Stone of Destiny", and "Casanova".
Daredevil is one of the characters confirmed to be included in the Netflix TV series by Marvel Studios alongside Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and many more.
The character was last seen on the big screen in 2003, when Ben Affleck donned the signature red horns of Daredevil alongside Jennifer Garner, Colin Farrell, and the late Michael Clark Duncan.
The Variety reports. that director Drew Goddard stepped down as the showrunner of Daredevil and is replaced by "Spartacus" creator Steven S. DeKnight. Goddard will now serve as a consultant on the show, but will reportedly focus most of his energies on writing and directing Sony's upcoming Spider-Man spin off "Sinister Six."
