The review giant TripAdvisor has chosen through millions of traveller reviews to identify the World's Best Hotels 2014 based on its users' favorite guesthouses. CNN reported that the site announced its 2014 Travelers' Choice Awards last March.
"More than 7,000 properties received awards, which were divided into categories including top hotels, bargains, B&Bs and inns, family, luxury, romance and small hotels," CNN described.
Most awards are bagged by hotels in Italy. Around 152 hotels selected by itinerants are located in the said European country. Quality and quantity of the ratings from traveller reviews and opinions were used by TripAdvisor to identify the Travelers' Choice properties.
Here are the top 10 winners worldwide in the "Top Hotels" category. The average nightly rate among the category's award-winners is $366.
