Dave Chappelle will be returning to the comedy scene with a string of stand-up performances at Radio City Music Hall next week, according to the Washington Post.

Chappelle made an appearance on "The Late Show With David Letterman" on Tuesday night, his first late-night appearance in more than six years, according to the Associated Press.

The 40-year-old comedian was asked about his decision back in 2005 to walk away from his hit sketchy comedy show "Chappelle's Show."

"Technically, I never quit. I'm seven years late for work," Chappelle told Letterman, according to the Daily Beast.

The late-show host also asked about the comedian walking away from the $50 million paycheck that went with the show, to which Chappelle answered, "The only difference between having $10 million and $50 million is an astounding $40 million!"

During the interview, Chappelle also revealed that he only stayed in South Africa for 2 weeks.

When asked further about his past decision to turn down the money, Chappelle simply stated that, "Money is the fuel for choices" and that there are things in his life that he didn't "purchase with money that are more valuable."

Rapper Nas will be joining Chappelle for his June 23 show.
