The Costa Rica vs. England match at Estádio Mineirão, Belo Horizonte ended in a draw but for England it was a shameful defeat plaguing the sides incompatibility to meet world standards. That's rather odd for England, the 1966 champs who are in one sense the inventors of 'football.'

At any rate, Costa Rica seeds in first place of Group D and will advance to the round of 16 at the FIFA World Cup after drawing 0-0 to England.

Daniel Sturridge had the most plays from England's side, nearly scoring for England on several occassions. The game began with Costa Rica's Celso Borges took a free kick that bent clear of the goal, hitting the cross bar.hit the bar from a free kick, while Daniel Sturridge spurned several good chances for England.

England leaves from the bottom of the group, one of the poorest performances in the World Cup. Playing on South American soil gives them an edge, but England with Rooney, Lampard and Gerrard were thought to be more resilient on the international scene. Meanwhile, Uruguay will come in behind Coasta Rica in Group D after a 'just in time' finishing goal from their Captain.Diego Lugano, who is also defending his teammate Louis Suarez over claims that he bit an Italian player during a challenge. Suarez supposedly lost a tooth during the clash.

Twitter responded to the slow and pointless possession in the match between Costa Rica vs. England in a placid manner:

The best story of this World Cup so far is Costa Rica winning a group with Italy, Uruguay and England.

Worrying end of the game for England. Lack of shape. Since the Italy game it feels there is not enough coaching/tactical instructions.

Painful to watch England now we're out. Like digging up a dead pet for a last look.
