Microsoft Windows 9 Release Date:
The hotly anticipated Windows 9 release date is in April 2015, according to the latest reports on the Windows OS. Windows 9 is supposed to be the biggest product to influence the Redmond St. company's direction of growth.
Along with Windows 9, Microsoft is scheduling a 2nd Windows 8.1 update tagged Windows 8.1 update 2 during August and September of this year. The Windows 8.2 Update 2 will be absolutely free for Windows 8.1 users, as claimed by WZOR hacker group via BGR.
For Windows users with earlier versions like Windows 7, the Windows Update 2 will be available at a low price in case they would like to upgrade to the latest Windows OS update.
Windows 9 will take form as 3 variants: "A traditional SKU, a touch-based SKU and an Enterprise Edition SKU. In addition, Windows 9 Enterprise Edition might get rid of the cloud-based integration. If rumors were true, the long-awaited Windows classic 'Start Menu' will not be part of the upcoming Windows 8.1 Update 2 but it is slated for Windows 9 release," reported Winbeta.
Windows 8 users had complained of loss of functions when the OS was used to combine use with tablets and PCs. This would result in loss of specific functions like the Start menu. Leaving out the Start menu, found in Windows 7, was one reason some fans of Microsoft hesitated to update to Windows 8, even after the Seattle-based firm announced it was pulling support for the decade old Windows XP. Another un-welcomed change was 'app mixing' of mobile and traditional apps.
Windows 9 will be frequently updated through the Windows Store and it might not support a 'desktop for running legacy Win32 apps," as implied previous tipsters online.Microsoft has also detailed its 'touch first' versions of PowerPoint, Word and Excel for Windows 8.1 and Windows 8. The touch first apps will resemble how the Office works with the iPad; it should be more touch interface friendly than regular Office on Windows. The touch-based interface Office should be out by the end of the year, which would be attuned to the Windows 9 release.
