"House of Cards" season 3 spoilers are rare and far between, as the premiere date for the Netflix series is still unknown. Meanwhile, Robin Wright apparently wants to direct the show more than act in front of the camera as Claire Underwood.
The last time showrunner Beau Willimon was interviewed at the event sponsored by the Smithsonian Associates, he declined to give "House of Cards" season 3 spoilers. As infoZine reported, when fans asked for updates of the show, he replied, "hashtag shrug," referring to the Twitter jargon when sharing tweets.
At least filming for the show seems to have began as "House of Cards" season 3 cast Kevin Spacey was back in Washington D.C. for production about two weeks ago after successful theatrical run for "Clarence Darrow" in London.
Kevin Spacey took to Twitter to thank fans and supporters who went to see "Clarence Darrow" at the Old Victor Theater: "What a blast it was to do. Now back in Washington for ... well, you know."
Production for the third season will be in Maryland after Gov. Martin O'Malley gave tax credits to Media Rights Capital, creator of "House of Cards."
While Beau Willimon did not reveal "House of Cards" season 3 spoilers, in an interview with New York Times' David Carr on June 20, he said that Robin Wright might again direct an episode in the upcoming season.
He told the Times that Robin Wright directed one of his favorite episodes in season 2.
"It was late in the season so it's when all the various storylines are really beginning to converge and the heat is ratcheted up and so is the pace. She did so much preparation. She is a first-time director and anything she didn't know the answer to she wasn't afraid to ask," he said.
With that said, the showrunner claimed that Robin Wright "threatens all the time" that she wants to direct now more than act. "But I know that she can do both at the same time," he said.
