The "House of Cards" filming at UN and Frank Underwood are totally not impressing Russia as it says "nyet" to the Netflix producers' plan to shoot inside the United Nations headquarters.
In a Mashable report, the diplomats have revealed that the Russian envoy has been adamant about allowing the "House of Cards" filming at UN, particularly inside the UN Security Chamber. The matter was brought up before the 15 council members upon receiving the request of the producers to use the chamber when the council is on break.
Russia reportedly wanted the council chamber available at all times because a crisis might arise unexpectedly.
France ambassador to the UN, Gerard Araud, told reporters on Wednesday that "it's disappointing for you, I guess, because you wanted to see the actors," according to CBC News.
"It's reassuring because I think the actors would have seemed so much more elegant than we are, you know," the ambassador joked.
Meanwhile, the Politico said all is not lost on the "House of Cards" filming at UN as it claimed that it has the endorsement of Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
"U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's office, however, recommended that the Security Council allow the Netflix show to film at the U.N., thinking it would be good publicity for the organization," it said.
That means, the "House of Cards" filming at UN can still continue albeit at another section of the headquarters.
In another "House of Cards" season 3 news, production might start as early as next month between June 12 to July 15, 2014, WTOP 103.5 Radio revealed, based on the open casting announcement by Kimberly Skyrme.
Meanwhile, "House of Cards" season 3 writer Beau Willimon was asked by a fan with the handle Katerina during the official Q&A with the writers and cast of the show: "is it possible for Frank Underwood to fall in love with something other than just power??
To which he replied: "I think he's very much in love with Claire," referring to Frank Underwood's (Kevin Spacey) wife played by Robin Wright.
