Samsung Galaxy S4 Update: Great news for Samsung Galaxy S4 users as the new software update for the phone, KitKat 4.4 will bring with it software features from the Samsung Galaxy S5. However the new Samsung Galaxy S4 KitKat 4.4 update is available for just one version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and in one region. It is also not clear as to when Samsung will be releasing it.
Back in February Samsung went onto the stage at the MWC in Barcelona and they showed of the Samsung Galaxy S5. This comes with some good upgrades over the Samsung Galaxy S4 and with TouchWiz interface that has been enhanced.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 software has been seen in a video and it shows off many upgrades to the camera, along with improvements to KNOX, there is a new kids mode along with Ultra Power Saving mode, to manage better daily usage. It also comes with S Health 3.0.
Samsung didn't say when or if some of these features would arrive on older devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 or S4.
It seems that Samsung has brought some of the features to the Samsung Galaxy S4, including the Kids mode and KNOX 2.0 will be heading to the Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 LTE device over in Germany.
The changelog said that the update would offer better battery life, but it seems that the Ultra Power Saving mode from the Samsung Galaxy S5 has not yet made its way to the S4 just yet.
The update for now is only available on the GT-I9500 device in Germany and we have no idea if it will come to the other handsets. Of course upgrades are always unpredictable and they can roll out in no order or regions and are dependent on the carrier.
