Pop-rock songwriter Linda Perry dissed Beyonce's songwriting skills as she claimed to enjoy Christina Aguilera's "Candyman," which she described as "super fun."

MusicTimes reported that in a Reddit AMA session, Linda Perry dissed Beyonce's songwriting skills after she was was asked on her take about Jay Z's wife's knack for writing her own songs:

"Linda, how do you feel about Beyoncé changing one word on a song and getting writing credit. Does that bother you as a songwriter?"

The rock musician answered: "Well hahaha um thats not songwriting but some of these artists believe if it wasn't for them your song would never get out there so they take a cut just because they are who they are. But everyone knows the real truth even Beyonce. She is talented but in a completely different way."

Beyonce is known for collaborating with various singer-songwriters for tracks on her albums, and while just changing a word or two in the lyrics or tweaking some harmonies in the song, the "Diva" singer still gets a writer-producer credit.

Beyonce's notable collaborators have expressed that the 33-year old songstress deserves songwriting credits in her contributions on her own tracks. Idolator.com listed some Beyonce collaborators, such as Boots, who "was impressed by how Beyonce instructed him to add some scuzzy guitar to the song 'Jealous'" and Ne-Yo who said that "the harmonies that she added to 'Irreplaceable' makes it totally different. So yeah, I gave her writer's credit, because that counts. That's writing."

Going back to Reddit AMA session, right after Linda Perry dissed Beyonce's songwriting skills, she also talked about other artists such as Kanye West, Pharrell, Pink and Christina Aguilera (whom she collaborated for the song "Beautiful") and expressed her fondness of the latter's "Candyman" song because "it was just a super fun song."

Linda Perry's Reddit AMA appearance is part of her promotion of her new VH1 show, "Make or Break."
