Carrie Underwood discussed her new album as the former "American Idol" winner is readying herself for a comeback to the studio and writing her own songs.
"I've been writing a lot. It feels really good," she said to The Hollywood Reporter, which adds that the new music "may be a little different than what fans are used to from Underwood, but she simply calls it 'a new version' of the same Carrie Underwood fans already know and love."
Carrie Underwood's last album release was 2012's "Blown Away", but the "Inside Your Heaven" singer has scored a huge chart-topper with "Something Bad," a collaboration with another country icon, Miranda Lambert .
Will there be a duet with Miranda on Carrie Underwood's new album?
Carrie Underwood explained that she "guarantee that won't be the last time we sing together, but it just hasn't happened for this next album."
Moreover, a stint in the Sunday Night Football will also fill the schedule of the "Before He Cheats" hitmaker as she is invited to once again perform the opening song of the NBC broadcast.
The singer was also tapped to kick off the opening of Superbowl XLIX this year, and the blonde beauty was so proud to share that her participation in the event will boast "high end digital graphics, the Lombardi trophy replicated larger than life, and the traditional Super Bowl roman numerals taking various shapes across the screen."
"I feel the glamour a bit more in that one," she noted. "It's a game like no other so they wanted to make it have an opening like no other."
Carrie has always been invited in football and sporting occasions gracing the event with a song or two; which the singer warmly welcome as she is a big fan of the sport.
"I love football. I'm honored they asked me to kick it off. Hopefully when people hear the song, they'll just feel ready for the big game!" she told Hollywood Reporter.
Fans can look forward for more of Carrie Underwood as a new album, Sunday Night Football and the Superbowl will fill the singer's plate of activities this year.
