We've always kept an eye on the newest family member of the S Series S5, but for those who are still happy with their S3 or S4 devices, here's a little backtrack on the improvements applied on Samsung Galaxy S4, perhaps answering your question: Is it really worth the upgrade?

Some may realize how nothing much has changed since both devices are still available for a very affordable price tag today and both devices can still handle most graphic intensive Apps in the market.

Obviously, S4 is the hands down winner. But for starters, the Galaxy S3 is equipped with a 4.8" Super AMOLED screen that offers 306ppi. This is short of the S4's 4.99" Super AMOLED screen that produces 441ppi. However, when powering up the device, the S3 has a better power supply. Its 2,100mAh battery can offer 22hours talk time which is more than the 2,600mAh battery on the S4. Not that big of a difference right?

But this is where it gets one-sided, in terms of processor power, the S4 is obviously the better choice as it has all the newer hardwares. The 1.6GHz Exynos 5 octa-processor with 2GB RAM put the S4 ahead of the S3. Nevertheless, the S3's 1.4GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM is still a better choice than most phones today.

The S4 is also able to offer a better photography experience with its 13MP rear camera and 2MP front shooter. The S3 is only capable of snapping at 8MP for its rear camera and 1.9MP for its front shooter. Aside from that, both the S3 and S4 are equal in every way. Of course, the S4 has more features to offer.

At the end of the day, the S4 is still the stronger device and the better choice. Do note that Samsung did left the S3 with all the bugs after it cancelled the KitKat update so it is best to avoid the device.
