2016 Potential Presidential Candidates: Darth Vader More Popular, Says Poll: In a survey of the 'Star Wars' universe released by statistics blog, FiveThirtyEight on Tuesday, the 2016 potential presidential candidate polls revealed that Darth Vader, the Star Wars 'lord of the dark side' was more popular than the 2016 political candidates.

Hillary Clinton stood second among the candidates, but that does not say much for the former firs lady. She scored 19 points in terms of % favor-ability, according to figures compiled by Nate Silver's Five Thirty Eight. Hillary also ties with the bounty hunter from the original Star Wars trilogy, Boba Fett.

Several characters from the 'Star Wars' movie were compared to real people who were 2016 potential presidential candidates. While Darth Vader, the 'bad guy' in the movie scored a '+30' points, virtually all the real political candidates fell below this range.

Clinton, Mike Huckabee, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio turned out wit higher favorite points than Emperor Palpatine, the villain 'Emperor,' who manages to scathe higher than Rick Perry and Paul Ryan. Palpatine is "the actual personification of evil in the galaxy."

Though the former 2016 potential presidential candidates staged in the positive, Joe Biden, Jeb Bush and Rick Santorum were in the red. Going to the depths of negative territory are Congressional leaders Nancy Pelosi, John Boehner, Mitch McConnell and Harry Reid. Congress, as a unit scored a whopping -65 favor-ability with the poorest figures in the survey.

Jar Jar Binks scored the only negative mark with a -8, while Congress managed to upstage the negative ranks of Binks.

The Washington Post's Christopher Ingraham asks, "But picking on Congress' unpopularity is a bit like beating a dead tauntaun. After all, the legislative branch has been less popular than lice, brussels sprouts and Nickelback for some time now. What if we compared the favorability of 2016 presidential hopefuls and other political leaders with that of "Star Wars" characters?"
