Topanga Lawrence''s "Boy Meets World" character will be making a throwback appearance - big hair and all - in an upcoming episode of the original series' spinoff "Girl Meets World".
According to a report from Entertainment Tonight, the beloved 90s character played by actress Danielle Fishel will reappear in a confrontation scene in the hit Disney Channel continuation.
The original character of Topanga Lawrence in "Boy Meets World" was known for being the free-spirited, know-it-all, curly hair love interest of lead character Cory Matthews, played by Ben Savage.
In the series' current spinoff, "Girl Meets World", Danielle Fishel's character has grown up to be very different from the young Topanga. While she has achieved her dreams of becoming a respected New York City lawyer, a big case has made her question the woman that she has become.
The new character then gets confronted by the childhood Topanga Lawrence from "Boy Meets World", described in the Entertainment Tonight report as an "earth-loving hippie child who pushed Cory to embrace the uncool".
Michael Jacobs, executive producer of "Girl Meets World" shared: "Topanga is on the wrong side of a court case. She's a successful lawyer and she realizes that in this particular case and her boss is just this terrible and horrible lawyer from hell."
The show's executive producer continued, "She looks in a mirror and the original Topanga comes out to become her mentor and advise her through the episode. She influences Topanga to re-dress like the original Topanga and to find what's right through that character."
The episode also shows the daughter of Topanga, Riley, confused about her mother's sudden changes. "Riley perceives that her mother is becoming somebody completely different than the mother she was used to," Michael Jacobs revealed. "But the audience will recognize that personality part as the actual, original Topanga."
