The "Mythbusters" TV show is slated to head towards a new direction; however, former hosts Kari Byron, Grant Imahara and Tory Bellici will no longer be joining the ride. Avid fans were astounded when the season finale last Thursday ended with them bidding the series goodbye.
Ten solid years of co-hosting "Mythbusters" TV Show has endeared the three hosts to viewers. Adam Savage, one of the staying hosts, delivered the announcement in a dramatic way. He remarked that it was not only the end of an episode and season, but also the end of an era.
With the ending, Adam emphasized the 10-year stay of the three hosts with the show. To this, his remaining co-host Jamie Hyneman said that this season, the show will return to its origins with just him and Adam as hosts, reported TV Yahoo.
According to Fox News, the three outgoing hosts took to Twitter to air their comments. They said that Discovery Channel had decided to make changes on the "Mythbusters" TV show. Several tweets from Kari bluntly addressed fans, saying that she assumed that they would have already been made aware of the fact that the trio would not be part of the show anymore.
Fox News shared that when Fox411 posed questions about the latest direction the show is planning to take, their representative gave no explanations. A senior publicist for the Discovery Channel have commended the contributions of the three hosts to the "Mythbusters" TV show, however.
In his email, the publicist stressed out that the trio had played a significant role to the overall quality of the show. He pointed out that their efforts had made it the Emmy-award winning program it is known for at present.
Fox News added that the hosts and the show's creators are parting ways in good terms. According to Discovery, "Mythbusters" is a long-running, Emmy-nominated educational program that seeks to expose the truth about popular myths and legends. Their process of uncovering involves their unique brand of experimentation that combines scientific methods with inventiveness and curiosity.
