Tech giant Apple might also be launching its new MacBook Air this 2014 according to new reports.
If rumors prove to be true, a thinner MacBook could be out by late this year as reported by Digitimes. Experts can't confirm however whether the thinner Apple computer will be the new MacBook Air 2014 or a new MacBook Pro variant, or a new MacBook model altogether.
Other reports are suggesting that the new MacBook will come in a 12-inch model that could possibly sport a Retina display, a new cooling system, and a button-less trackpad. Experts are speculating that this could be the latest version of the MacBook Air.
Several tech blogs and news sites have also taken note of the production delay of the Intel chips used in the Apple laptops. This could possibly imply a late 2015 to early 2015 release date of the new MacBooks.
The delay shouldn't be that bad, as the much anticipated release of Apple's flagship product- the iPhone 6- could possibly be scheduled in weeks time since most experts are looking at a September 19 launch. If rumors are true, the release of the new MacBook Air 2015 could follow shortly after the big smartphone reveal.
According to MacRumors: "If Apple is indeed looking to launch a new MacBook late this year or early next year, the company may unveil the notebook at an October event following the introduction of the iPhone 6 in September."
"Citing supply chain sources in Taiwan, the [Digitimes] report notes that component production has already begun in small volumes. Apple will also reportedly cease production of the 13-inch non-Retina MacBook Pro by the end of 2014."
