Several k-drama stars will be celebrating another successful year this month. Here are the stars that will sample some birthday cake in September.
Sept. 6: Kim So Eun turns 25 this month. The actress who shippers paired with Kim Bum in "Boys over Flowers" appeared in the film "Mourning Grave" this year, co-starring with actor Kang Ha Neul. Together with f(x)'s Victoria, she will host the variety show "Glitter."
Sept. 14: Lee Jong Suk stayed in the A-list in 2014. He appeared as the medical genius and North Korean defector Park Hoon in "Doctor Stranger," as well as having roles in two films. He starred in "Hot Blooded Youth" with Park Bo Young and in "No Breathing" with Seo In Guk. A rumored appearance in an upcoming comedy that co-stars Park Shin Hye has both their fans excited and hopeful.
Sept. 15: It was a magical year for Kim Sung Oh. Last year the 36-year-old actor played Lee Chang Hee, the loyal but misguided gangster in "When A Man Loves." This year he plays the sorcerer and royal manipulator Sadam in the fantasy saeguk "The Night Watchmen."
Sept. 16. Last year Lee Jin Wook traveled through time in "Nine: Nine Time Travels." This year he has traveled back through time again to play the good-humored Joseon-era Crown Prince So Hyun in the k-drama adaptation of "The Three Musketeers." Lee Jin Wook will be 33.
Sept. 19. Song Joong Ki is currently serving his two-year mandatory military service. He enlisted in August of 2013, so he won't be up for another drama role until next year.
Sept. 21: Yoon Sang Hyun followed his top-notch performance as a public prosecutor in "I Hear Your Voice" by playing the detective Ha Moo Yeom in "Gap Dong." His character sought to catch a serial killer and clear his father's name.
Sept. 25: Hyun Bin turns 32 this month. His first project after finishing his two-year military duty was playing King Jeongjo in the film "The Fatal Encounter." It was the first historical film for the actor who is well known for his roles in "Secret Garden" and "My Lovely Kim Sam Soon." Since its release in April, the film has sold three million tickets.
Sept. 29: Actress Yoon Seung Ah had both a drama role and a film role this year. She played Kim So Yeon's romantically confused assistant in "I Need Romance 3" and also had a role in the film The Legacy."
Sept. 30: Joo Won has reasons to celebrate his career this year. He appeared in the musical "Ghost" and two films, "Fashion King" and the Korean-Chinese production "Passion Heaven." He is also working on his next drama "Tomorrow Cantabile," the Korean adaptation of "Nodame Cantabile." He turns 27 this year.
