Which smartphone is the ideal purchase for consumers? We compare the Samsung Galaxy S3 against the Huawei Ascend D to see which device is better.
In terms of display, the Samsung Galaxy S3 features a large display screen with the size of 4.8 inch that rolls out with a HD Super AMOLED which is the best than others as it is the brightest display with an amazing screen resolution of 720p.
The Huawei Ascend D on the other hand, has a LCD capacitive touchscreen which is IPS and a screen resolution at 720×1280 pixels along with multitouch capacity.
For the hardware and OS, the Samsung Galaxy S3 has a strong Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.4GHz that is as good as other devices, while the Huawei Ascend D has also a Quad-Core processor, but is clocked at 1.2GHz.
Samsung smartphone runs on the Android 4.0.4 version that is the newest ICS. Some say that this version can be updated to the next Android 5.0. Jelly Bean. The Huawei Ascend D runs also in the ICS but it is the 4.0.3 version and can be upgraded into the Android 5.0 Jelly Bean version that is planned to be released sometime this year.
For the battery and camera specs, the Samsung Galaxy S3 has a battery unit of 2100mAh whereas, the Huawei Ascend D features a battery unit of 1800mAh.
The Samsung device features a rear-facing camera of 8MP along with functions like HDR Filter and HD recording. The only downside of it is only Burst option which can shot for only twenty pictures. Also, it has a front facing shooter of 1.9 MP.
The Huawei device has a smaller primary camera of 5MP, which has features like the resolution of 2560х1920 pixels, autofocus and LED dual flash. Plus, the Huawei provides a secondary camera at 1.3 MP.
The Samsung Galaxy 3 cost $280 in amazon.com. The Huawei Ascend D price tag was reported to be very catching compared to the price of the Samsung smartphone.
