Kanye West news revealed that Kim Kardashian's husband is defending himself following an embarrassing wheelchair incident that took place in the Australian leg of his Yeezus tour.

Kanye West made news during his Sydney show Friday when, at one point during his concert, the rapper requested for the entire audience to get on their feet.

According to a report from People, the notoriously outspoken performer saw two audience members who were not standing and asked them to "get up".

Little did Kanye West know that those two audience members were handicapped: one was on a wheelchair, while the other had a prosthetic leg.

Media immediately jumped on the embarrassing incident, dubbed as "wheelchair gate".

To his defense, the 37-year-old rap superstar made a five-minute speech during the Brisbane leg of his Australia Yeezus tour to explain the incident. The said speech was published by Daily Beast, wherein Kanye West slammed news reports for exaggerating the misunderstanding.

He first mocked the media personalities who allegedly jumped on the wheelchair controversy. "So, people on the Today show, I'm not sure I keep up with the news, but if Michael Strahan is still at the Today show - no, Good Morning America, Matt Lauer, the girls on The View - Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Roberts..."

Kanye West then pointed out: "... if y'all run this, take a step back and look at this: I'm a married Christian man with a family."

He explained, reported by Daily Beast: "At my concerts, I make sure everybody has as good a time as possible."

"So all this demonizing me, it aint' goin' to work after a while. Pick a new target," Kanye West blasted.

"If you take someone that can go from being a rock star across the globe and everything and make the decision to pick one woman and raise a family ... there's enough things workin' against you," continued Kim Kardashian's husband.

"This is real expression. This is real artistry," Kanye West said. "You know, an artist's career doesn't happen in one cycle of news - an artist's career happens in a lifetime."

Prior to the wheelchair fiasco, Kanye West was in the news last week after he was reportedly hospitalized in Melbourne's Epworth Hospital in Richmond for a suspected seizure.

According to a report from Woman's Day, the rapper was reportedly given an emergency MRI after suffering a migraine just hours before the Melbourne leg of his Yeezus tour.

An eyewitness named Loraine Terry claimed hospital personnel requested for an urgent MRI upon seeing that Kanye West was having, or about to have, a seizure.

"We were shocked because it looked so serious...Everyone was massively panicked," Loraine Terry narrated to Woman's Day.
