'American Idol' season 14 will be coming back to television early next year and the Fox has already released promotional photos for the show.

Auditions for the long-standing singing program have been going on for a couple of months, with Adam Lambert sitting in for Keith Urban during the New York callbacks due to a family emergency in Australia.

With only a few months left until the 14th season airs, what changes should the viewers expect?

For one thing, 'American Idol' season 14 will be "streamlined" according to Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly. Entertainment Weekly previously reported that the survival show will start out with two weekly episodes but that will eventually change as the show progresses.

"I think it will be a two-night format initially during the audition phase, and will quite likely end up as a two-hour show on one night for most of its run," Reilly previously stated.

Aside from the change in show hours, American Idol judges Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick, Jr and Keith Urban (as well as guest judge Adam Lambert) will have higher standards when it comes to picking contestants for primetime.

"We're not putting people through based on, 'Maybe in a few weeks they'll really get into it.' There's no time for that." Connick said, according to TVLine.

It doesn't mean that they won't be looking for contestants with raw talent either.

He further explained, "But I don't know if it's about coming in more polished, as opposed to coming in with a greater wealth of talent. We've seen people who are really raw, but you can tell when the bright lights go on them, they're going to be able to bring it."

That doesn't mean they won't be trained as hard as the past seasons, though.

"I want to have the middle rounds, I want them to have their time to adjust to this craziness," JLo shared.

They won't just be looking for talent as well.

Lambert pointed out that "it's more than just having a nice-sounding voice. It's about the complete package: It's the look, it's the vibe, it's the personality. Hello, hello, personality!"

Lambert - who was a finalist in the said show - also gave the 'American Idol' season 14 contestants a challenge.
