Which device is the ideal purchase for consumers? We compare the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus and the HTC One V to see which device is better.

For design and display, the HTC One V comes with a Super LCD 2 display of 3.7 inches, which supports a resolution of 480x800pixels and 252ppi.The One V has an aluminum body and it measures 120.3×59.7×9.2 mm, while its weight is 115 grams.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus on the other hand, has a slightly smaller display (HVGA) of 3.65 inches, and the resolution of 480x320pixels and 158ppi. The Samsung smartphone has a plastic body, and its dimensions are: 62.5×114.7×11.2 mm, weighting 114 grams.

Interms of hardware and OS, the HTC One V is equipped with a 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon CPU, while the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus is powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor. As for the GPUs, the HTC device is equipped with an Adreno 205, while the Samsung unit has a superior Adreno 220, although users won’t notice the difference in terms of graphical acceleration. Both smartphones come with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage expandable for up to 32GB. The HTC One V runs on the Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS and HTC Image Sense 4.0 UI, while the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

For battery usage and camera specs, the HTC One V has a longer battery life thanks to its capacity of 1500mAh, while the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus has a 1300mAh battery.

Both smartphones have a 5MP rear camera with a 2592x1944pixels resolution as users can record HD videos @30 fps with 720p. However, HTC’s camera has a feature called Image Sense which users can obtain a better picture quality for your images. Other features are: LED flash, BSI Sensor, autofocus, dedicated imaging chip and geo tagging.

Samsung’s camera has LED flash, and the videos are recorded at a resolution of 640x480pixels. The other features are: Panoramic Photo, Image Editor, Face and Smile Detection, Geo-tagging and autofocus.

In addition, the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus comes with Samsung’s TouchWiz User Interface, while HTC’s Sense 4.0 offers users the possibility to take videos and photos simultaneously; having Data Usage in detailed, Wifi Direct, Bluetooth HDP, Face Unlock and wireless HDMI connection to your digital TV.

The HTC One V costs $158 in amazon.com, while the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus is around $160.
