Minecraft PlayStation Vita release date: The much-awaited edition for this particular console has arrived in the US, Tuesday October 14. Reports say that it will be coming to Europe just a day after.
It will sell for $20 online. However, Sony notes various options for players who want to upgrade to PS3/PS4 versions:
-If you buy the retail Vita version, your game will include a pack-in voucher code that provides digital access to the Vita and PS3 versions, and you can also upgrade to the PS4 Edition for $4.99.
-If you already own Minecraft on PS3 (physical or digital), you'll be able to automatically download the Vita version for free. But you're out of luck if you've previously bought the PS4 edition; "Only the PS3 and PS Vita Editions are eligible for the cross-buy offer."
-If you digitall purchase the Vita version, you'll be able to download the PS3 version for free on the same account and you can pay $5 for the PS4 version.
What should players expect on the Minecraft Vita? Reviewing the release of Xbox One PS4 editions, we can easily notice that these are way far behind the PC/Mac Versions, but 4J Studios announced that the upcoming update named 'Horse' hopes to minimize that gap. In our previous report, a couple of gamers expressed their high hopes on the enhancements that could bring better console gaming experience.
In a review grabbed from Metacritic N1MX3 shared:
"Minecraft Xbox One edition isn't a bad game, but for it to be a upgrade is stupid, there is very little differences here, part from larger map sizes, and for waiting over 1 year for this is more ridiculous, it is worth waiting till the updates start rushing in."
The developers of the game admitted that moving up to the equivalent version of Java 1.6.4 version may take some time. In this change log grabbed from Minecraft Forum, one can easily notice that the team is truly taking it one step at a time:

For now, we can only celebrate for the release of Minecraft PlayStation Vita edition and look forward to better gaming experience through Mojang's upcoming updates.
