Actress and former S.E.S. member Eugene and her husband actor Ki Tae Young are expecting. According to her agency, the baby will be born next spring. The couple has been married for three years but this will be their first child.
They have in the past said they wanted to have three or four children.
Although they are happy to be married and excited about the new addition to their family, their relationship initially got off to a rocky start.
"When we first met," said Eugene a.k.a. Kim Yoo Jin. "I had no idea we would develop feelings for each other."
Eugene and Ki Tae Young began dating after they met on a drama set in 2009. But when they first met on the set of "Creating Destiny," they were not sure they liked each other.
She thought he seemed cold, but he was really shy. He had no idea who she was before they worked together, so he kept to himself.
"He seemed like a really cold guy, with a lot of walls up," she said. "But I knew we had to be friendly for the sake of the drama, so I approached him first."
In the drama he played the boy that her character's father wanted her to date, so their characters had to interact frequently.
Eventually the two actors became friendly and started exchanging texts. The texts led to dating rumors when they were not yet dating. But Eugene and Ki Tae Young met to discuss the dating rumors and how they would handle them. Ironically, that discussion led to them really dating.
"As the filming came to a close, I realized that she was different from most people and saw the world with a pure heart and I developed close feelings for her," said Ki Tae Young.
The couple married in July 2011 at Seoul Central Church and took a three-week European honeymoon.
This year Ki Tae Young appears in the drama "Make A Wish." Last year he was seen in the drama special "Nightwatch," as well as "Scandal: A Shocking and Wrongful Incident" and "Case Number 113." Eugene appeared this year in "Can We Love?" Last year she was seen in "A Hundred Year Legacy."
In 2012, they were the first couple to be featured on "Super Couple Diary." The reality show followed the daily lives of married celebrity couples.
