A Kate Upton photo appears to have been copied by the video game Grand Theft Auto 5. According to a report from The Inquisitr, the "Sports Illustrated" model resembles the controversial game's beach girl character more than actress Lindsay Lohan, who has filed a lawsuit against game's creators.
The similarity between Kate Upton and the Grand Theft Auto 5 character is said to be closer than the former "Mean Girls" star, who has slammed a case against the Take-Two Interactive. The game's developer, Rockstar, said Lindsay Lohan is only using the issue for publicity.
"Lindsay Lohan complains that her image and persona have been wrongfully used by Take-Two in the video game Grand Theft Auto V, but her claim is so legally meritless that it lacks any good-faith basis, and can only have been filed for publicity purposes," Rockstar said in a statement, reported by The Inquisitr.
The statement added: "The portraits of the Plaintiff (Lohan) incorporated her image, likeness, clothing, outfits, Plaintiff's clothing line products, ensemble in the form of hats, hair style, sunglasses, jean shorts worn by the Plaintiff that were for sale to the public at least two years [before the game was released]."
The Inquisitr added that even though Kate Upton resembles the Grand Theft Auto 5 character more than Lindsay Lohan, the "Sports Illustarted" model appears to have no plans of filing a lawsuit like the actress.
Just recently, Huffington Post reported that Kate Upton is part of a huge nude photo leak that has victimized celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence, Anna Kendrick, and Arianna Grande.
A rep for the 22-year-old model has issued a statement, which described the scandal as "an outrageous violation of our client Kate Upton's privacy."
"We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible," Kate Upton's statement read.
