Which smartphone is the better purchase? We compare the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the LG Optimus 4X to see which is better.

For the hardware and OS, the Samsung Galaxy S3 has a processor which is Quad-Core and it is clocked at 1.4 GHz, while the LG Optimus 4X device features a powerful processor, also Quad-Core, but clocked at 1.5 GHz.

The Samsung smartphone runs on the Android 4.0.4 that is the latest ICS; and it’s been said that this can be updated to the next version of Jelly Bean Android 5.0.The LG device on the other hand, runs on the latest Android’s ICS and it will also be able to accommodate with the future Android 5.0 firmware, which is scheduled to be released later this year.

For the battery and camera specs, the Samsung Galaxy S3 has a battery unit of 2100mAH, which is a great one, providing more battery power than other smartphones. The LG Optimus 4x has a better battery capacity of 2140mAH (Li-Ion).

The Galaxy S3 features a primary camera of 8MP that has functions like the ability to record HD videos and HDR Filter. The only disadvantage of it by now is that the Burst option is able to shoot only twenty pictures. Also, this handset provides a front facing shooter at 1.9 MP.

The LG 4x is equipped with an 8MP rear facing camera, with a resolution at 3264× 2448 pixels, and other functions like autofocus and LED-flash. This device has a frontal camera at 1.3MP.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 16GB is worth $250, while LG Optimus 4X is at $170.
