Every new generation of smartphones, manufacturers are leapfrogging themselves with every production of their products. This is also applies to tablet development. The new top shelf tablet is lighter, slimmer, thinner and faster than the previously manufactured one, but there is some disparities between how things stand in tablets and phones. At the same time, Apple is not the number 1 smartphone provider anymore, it still has a company grip on the tablet business, where iPad seems to be on top of the PS powered mobile opponent at all times.
Design
The design of the present edition of Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 is not extraordinary. It is very thin; the material used is plastic and shows us with a peculiar odd back panel that has a resembling pattern of leather. But it's just "meh" and it is by no means bad, compared to iPad's fancy aluminum build. The Air is more dense than the Samsung Note 10.1 2014 (9.45 x 6.67 x 0.30 inches for the iPad vs 9.57 x 6.75 x 0.31 inches for the Note), it is also noticeably lighter with its 16.86 oz (478 g), than the Note's 19.29 oz (547 g). This lets the users to take control of the more user friendly iPad Air, though, it does not matter if they are using both hands.
Display
One of the most noticeable with iPad Air's screen is the gamma and both display panels placed side by side. Some dark levels seem brighter than they should, leading in a less image, which is not present with the Note 10.1 screen, its own image seems at first glance a bit more attractive. At the same time, both LCD technology displays use colors of the iPad Air are well-balanced and more realistic, as those of the 2014 Note 10.1 somewhat appear in comparison is greenish in all angles.
