Alicia Keys may be pregnant, but that did not stop her from leading a protest rally in New York. According to a report from Daily Mail, the "Girl On Fire" singer is leading the "Bring Back Our Girls" movement for over 200 Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped earlier this year.
The 33-year-old singer reportedly wants to remind the public of the 219 Nigerian schoolgirls who were kidnapped by Boko Haram militants. Alicia Keys may be pregnant but she rallied with 30 women to raise awareness.
The R&B star and her supporters held signs that read: "We Are Here To Bring Back Our Girls Now" and chanted "When do we want them? Now! Now! Alive!"
The singer explained why she takes the matter so seriously: "Today is my son's birthday and it is also making me stand in solidarity with all the mothers of the Chibok girls who have been abducted fo six months and are still missing."
She continued, reported by Daily Mail: "It is just outrageous that that's going on. Some people have even told me they've heard things about 'there's been progress,' but there hasn't been progress because the girls aren't back."
"So I think that we get mixed information. We don't know, so we just have to keep being made aware of what's happening," Alicia Keys pointed out.
Alicia Keys also posted about the tragedy on her social networking sites. She wrote: "On my lil guys birthday I stand with the mothers of Chibok!! We can't ignore 6 months of this tragedy!! What if it was you or me? I want to remind you that in this darkness, your voice matters! Let's do something about this."
Alicia Keys pregnant news reported that the "New York State Of Mind" singer will give birth on New Year's Eve! According to a report form Us Weekly, the R&B diva is ready for her second baby with husband Siwzz Beatz.
