Comic book adaptations are here to stay, Archie Comics is the latest property that is coming to TV in Fox. The working title of the drama series is Riverdale, Archie is expected to bring his co-characters, Veronica, Betty and Jughead, together with supporting characters Pussycats and Josie.
Archie Comics will come to live action soon in a drama, its pilot episode is being created by a few veteran talents in teen programming or comics, although, some may laugh at the idea. Greg Berlanti will produce the TV series; he may oversee the production along with Warner Bros. Their partnership has already proven for TV projects like The Flash, C.Ws Arrow and Supergirl of CBS.
Presently, the TV series provides a subversive and bold take on Veronica, Betty, Archie and their friends, surreally exploring of the weirdness and darkness of small town life under Riverdale's wholesome façade. The series will show Archie Andrews' eternal love triangle, with rich socialite Veronica Lodge and girl next door Betty Cooper and will engage the whole cast of characters from the comic version, like slacker best friend Jughead Jones and his rival Reggie Mantle. Kevin Keller, famous gay character also has an important role, with other casts from Archie comics' impressive archive.
Of course, there were also plans to include a darker and edgier reboot of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch to film. With the horror title, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina that will launch Aguirre-Sacasa. Afterlife is successful after all, there is always a potential spin-off for Riverdale find a viewer.
