Which phablet is the ideal choice for consumers? We compare the LG G Vista and the Lenovo S680 to see which device is worth the purchase.
In terms of design and display, The LG G Vista has a 5.7inches IPS LCD, which renders a resolution of 720x1280pixels with 258ppi, and the screen has TBC protection. It weights 168 grams and its dimensions are 152.1×79.2×9.1 mm.
The Lenovo S860 comes with a 5.3 inches IPS LCD screen with the same resolution, but a higher pixel density of 277ppi. It weights 190 grams and its dimension are 10.3×149.5×77 mm.
For the hardware and OS, the LG G Vista has a quad core 1,2GHz Cortex A7 processor, which is supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset and has an Adreno 305 GPU. Its internal memory is at 8GB, expandable up to 32GB and runs on the Android v4.4.2 (KitKat) with 1.5GB of RAM.
As for the Lenovo S860, it is powered by a quad core 1.3GHz processor, based on a Mediatek MT6582 chipset and uses a Mali-400MP2 GPU. It has 16GB of internal storage, but it’s unexpandable, though it compensates with those 2GB of RAM which help the operating system: Android v4.2 (Jelly Bean), which is upgradable to v4.4.2 (KitKat).
For the battery and camera specs, the LG G Vista has a Li-Ion 3200mAh battery which provides an average talk time of 12 hours on 3G. The Lenovo S860 has a non-removable Li-Po 4000mAh battery with which you can talk 24 hours on 3G.
Both phablets have 8MP rear cameras with similar features: LED flash, geo tagging, face detection, touch focus, HDR. However, the G Vista has laser autofocus, and its opponent has a simple autofocus feature. The secondary camera on the LG phablet is at 1.3MP, which is slightly weaker than Lenovo’s 1.6MP front camera.
The LG G Vista costs around $435, while the Lenovo S860 is at $323.
