It seem like only yesterday when fans were all trying to cope from the astonishing event of The Legend of KOrra season 3 (Book 3: Change) finale. The pretty Avatar was hurt by Zaheer's relentless assaults while Korra was compelled to suffer the Avatar-state. It was ruthless violation of Korra's body and spirit.
Nickelodeaon's choice to launch the final installment of the saga soon after the last season seems like both a curse and blessing. It's more of a blessing because of the added adventures of Team Avatar, but the cruel realities of the TV network's failed marketing for this franchise does not promise well for the Last Airbender legacy's future. Surely, there are Dark Horse comics published and a video game that out in the latter part of October, but what does that mean for television. Is this the last Avatar on screen?
Bolin's loyalty to Kuvira causes a gap in his bond with Opal. Certainly show-runners Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino will give greater insight on what's occurred over the past three years as the season developments. While Bolin may be ridiculous at times, he's no self-centered tyrant, so why would he join up with a leader as alarming and upbeat as Kuvira? There's also the issue of the ill feeling between Suyin and her children. It seems that Opal feels like her brother deceived their mother, but for what cause we don't know. Perhaps we'll get a review to present context to our current situation.
So, in this whole thing, where's the Avatar? Zaheer have been passive in the previous season, yet it never seems like a success. Korra have undergone change that day and fans and we are not sure how intensive the damage is. After three years, she is still blaming herself; Korra is engaged in some form of earth-bending cage battle for money. What did Zaheer has taken the title away from Korra during the battle? Will Korra ever find power to be the Avatar again? Let's just hope that this season will be a form of rebirth for Korra, but with Balance, a title, is there even an opportunity that she will endure the upcoming conflict? It's a wait and see.
