Good news Marvel fans as a rumored plot detail for the third Thor movie, Thor: Ragnarok has been revealed.
According to reports from Screenrant, Thor: Ragnarok will depict Chris Hemsworth's character Thor Odinson on a quest to save Asgard from an apocalyptic event called Ragnarok, as the website further hints that the Mighty Avenger will face a new enemy in the form of the fire demon lord Surtur in Muspelheim.
Hemsworth once expressed his interest of seeing his character pick a fight with Surtur in third movie during an interview with Screenrant.
“I think what’s good about this is that each time, with the Avengers, we sort of made it difficult to separate them each time there’s some sort of conflict it’s like where’s the rest of the team? And I liked that Thor has another universe or the universe to sort of take care of and keep him occupied. I think that in the comic book the sort of end of days, Armageddon aspect is probably the direction in which it will all head in. Where it’s sort of the end of all things and there’s obviously no script or anything when I read the comic books I thought it was an interesting way to go.”
Thor: The Dark World's executive producer Craig Kyle also expressed what's on his mind about Thor 3.
“And the effects and woes and success of the universe are spoken through this, this living object. So, should the end of all things ever come this would probably be the first thing to fall.”
When asked about whether the Surtur and fire demons of Muspelheim appear in Thor 3.
“Yeah (laughs) bring them all in.”
That's not all, Comicbook.com reports that Surtur isn't the only villain to appear in the movie as Amora the Enchantress and her executioner Scourge are rumored to also appear in the movie, but whether she will cooperate with Surtur or doing her own agenda is left unanswered.
Meanwhile, there have been reports that Loki will appear in the post end credits scene in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
According to reports from Screen Crush, the post credits scene would feature the return of Tom Hiddleston's character Loki as the Asgardian trickster leads a war between Asgard and Midgard/Earth and this scene will likely trigger the events for Thor 3.
The website also noted that Chris Hemsworth have shared his thoughts regarding the Avengers Age of Ultron's after credits scene and Thor 3 during San Diego Comic Con 2014.
"I hope we're doing another one. I think we're doing another one. I don't know anything official as of yet, but I'm looking forward to it."
Collider also adds that Hemsworth talked about the possibility of doing Thor 3 very soon.
"I don't think it's just yet, 'Thor 3.' It's another - a ways away." Since he is just starring in the movie, then the person that can best talk about the third installment is the producer.
In an Interview with Screen Rant, Hemsworth revealed some details of his character in the sequel and
"He's able to manipulate all sorts of things - including the dynamic of the team - and split us up."
"It's awesome. Someone new brings a whole different dynamic to it. He's just so smart, and so impressive, and kind of unsettling as this character. All of us were standing on set and watching him do his scene the first day and started applauding at the end of it because it was so good. It's amazing."
Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to be released in movie theatres on July 28, 2017.
