The k-drama birthday celebrations this month start on Nov. 4, which is a special day for three k-drama and k-movie stars. Another year older and even more popular are BigBang's T.O.P., So Ji Sub and actor Han Suk Kyu.
Nov. 4: Rapper T.O.P., whose acting resume now includes "Iris" and the films "Nineteen," "71: Into the Fire" and "The Commitment," turns 27 on Nov. 4. In 2014, he won praise for his role as the gambler Ham Dae-Gil in the sequel to Tazza, "Tazza 2: The Hidden Card."
So Ji Sub will be celebrating on the same day. The actor who had a big hit with "The Master's Sun" last year, followed that Hong Sisters hit by indulging in his other passion: rapping. In June he released his third electro-hip-hop album "18 Years," for the number of years he has worked as an actor. He wrote and composed the title track. On the album he collaborated with the hip-hop group Soul Dive.
Also celebrating that day will be Han Suk Kyu, who currently plays Dol Seok in the film "The Royal Tailors" which co-stars Park Shin Hye. Although he is primarily a film actor, he also plays King Yeongjo in the k-drama "Secret Door."
Nov. 5: Kwon Boa, who is known by the stage name BoA, is also known as the Queen of Korean Pop. Last year year, she appeared as the dancer Aya in an American dance film, "Make Your Move 3D" and in a kdrama special "Expecting Romance" with Daniel Choi. In 2014, she made a cameo in the film "Venus Talk."
Nov. 9: Gu Hye Sun's name became a household word thanks to her performance as the plucky Geum Jan Di in "Boys over Flowers." This year she won new fans with her appearance in the weekend drama "Angel Eyes." Also, a writer, director and illustrator, she works on plenty of other projects. "Daughter," the film she directed, was invited to "Busan International Film Festival 2014."
Nov. 13: Moon Chae Won played Joo Won's love interest in the medical drama "Good Doctor." After that she appeared in the short film "Awaiting." Next year she can be seen in two films, "Today's Love" and "The Mood That Day."
Nov. 23: Shin Sung Rok has had a very busy year. After playing a villain in "You Who Came From The Stars, he played a sweet second lead in "Trot Lovers. The actor, also known as a musical theater star, now plays the mysterious host of the "Liar Game," encouraging people to lie and cheat.
Nov. 29: Chun Jung Myung had a k-drama comeback this year playing Cha Woo Jin in the k-drama "Reset." Before that his last k-drama roles took place in 2011 when he appeared in two dramas, "Glory Jane" and "Duo."
Also celebrating on the 29th is actor Ryu Seung Ryong.
Ryu Seung Ryong is considered one of the most versatile supporting actors in kdramas and kmovies.He starred in two films this year, the wildly popular "Roaring Currents" and "Target." Next year he will appear in two more films, "Seoul Station" and "Dorihwaga." He also had a cameo in "You Who Came From The Stars."
