Phil Spencer, the boss of Microsoft's Xbox announced last week that the firm has no plans for another sequel of Minecraft. When Microsoft announced its acquisition of Minecraft, gamers are worried it might destroy their well-loved game. On the other hand, the firm has been vocal how much they want to support the game and ensures they will not make any dramatic changes.
During the Podcast with IGN, Spencer explained that Minecraft 2 is not the thing that will benefit the game. He is more confident in pursuing support for the present game, which has been largely efficient by regular updates itself for free, for every users who purchased the game.
A sequel may affect the entire Minecraft community, and there are other journeys Microsoft could take with the brand, like TV series or films. Presently, Spencer states that it is the responsibility of Microsoft to cope with the wants of the Minecraft community before acting on anything.
