Which tablet device is the ideal choice for consumers? We compare the LG G Pad 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 to see which is better.

In terms of design and display, both tablets have the same the screen size of 7inches and use IPS LCD technology, but Amazon's Kindle Fire HDX 7 renders a resolution of 1200x1920pixels and a pixel density of 323ppi, while the LG G Pad 7 has a resolution of 800x1280pixels and 216ppi.

The LG tablet is lighter than its rival, weighing 293 grams, while the Amazon tablet weighs 303 grams (WiFi) or 311grams (4G). The Amazon tablet is shorter (186mm vs 189.3mm) and slimmer (9mm vs 10.1mm), but the LG device is narrower (113.8mm vs 128mm).

For the hardware, and OS, the Amazon Kindle has a powerful processor quad core Krait 400 clocked at 2.2GHz, and it’s supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset. The system configuration is completed by an Adreno 330 GPU with 2GB of RAM and the internal storage is available in three variants: 16/32/64 GB. It runs on the Android 4.2.2 and the model uses the Fire OS 3 Mojito.

The LG G Pad 7 has a 1.2GHz quad core Cortex A7 processor, which runs modestly on a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset with Adreno 305 graphics. This tablet has 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage expandable up to 64GB and it operates on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat).

For battery and camera specs, both tablets have non removable batteries with different capacities: 4500mAha for the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 and 4000mAh for the LG G Pad 7. The LG device has camera of 3.15MP, while a 1.3MP camera is on the Amazon tablet. The LG tablet has another 1.3MP camera on the front which records at 720p.

The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 tablet cost $244 (16GB), $284 (32GB), and $324 (64GB). The LG G Pad 7 costs around $250.
