Sony, the Japanese entertainment colossus, announced on Thursday that they will launch the cable-style television service provided by its Play station video game consoles. Although, pricing was not yet disclosed for PlayStation Vue subscription, which will introduce with an invitation only stage in New York and then spread to Los Angeles, Chicago and Philadelphia. It official release date in the early part of 2015.The service will be accessible over the Web on Playstation 4 and its predecessor. The company said that it should soon have the service on iPads and that it will also work on other devices. In August, Sony informed the public that it has sold over 10 million PS4 consoles since they hit the market in 2013. A sale of the PS 3 generation introduced in 2006 was over 80 million. Sony focused on making film or shows easy to search, and how they can be queued in online servers to be seen at the user's convenience.
According to Andrew House, Sony Computer Entertainment chief "reinvents the traditional viewing experience so your programming effortlessly finds you, enabling you to watch much more of what you want and search a lot less."
Vue will be released with about 75 channels of sports programs, television shows and movies. Partnering networks are also in contract with Vue like Fox, Discovery Communications, CBS Viacom, NBC Universal and Scripps Network Interactive.
ony has been trying to save the company by integrating its advantages in consumer electronics hardware, film, television, music and video games. In October, Sony announced a jaw-dropping six month loss at $1.0 billion, highlighting to be on red alert. The challenges are fiercely cut-throat in the smartphone industry. Maybe this is why Sony is turning its attention to Vue. The firm is in the verge of wider restructuring as it exerts efforts to move forward because of the losses, which is about 3.71 trillion yen.
