Ubisoft wishes to expand the market of Assassin's Creed and other major franchises to a younger and larger audience. The publisher has began working with other firms to develop companion items that will help more brand consciousness for their various brands. In the early part of 2014, Ubisoft informed the public about their partnership with Mega Bloks' producer to make pay sets for the Assassin's Creed brand. Mega Bloks has also established sets for Halo and Call of Duty.
Yannick Spagna, International Brand Manager of the firm cited Ubisoft's strategy of Assassin's Creed and the techniques that are customized on younger audiences. He explained, "On a big IP, like Assassin's Creed or that type of game, I think now the idea is to reach a maximum of people, so it's not about needing advertisement to get additional revenue."
"For big IPs," he added, "smart brands are the best partners. They do a line with Mega Blox together. On their side, it's nice because toys are looking for the hype around video games. And we are looking for a new audience: kids, children, it's more like that." Spagna further added.
Spagna said when asked about the M-rated status of the Assassin's franchise, the brand could be changed to suitable rating for younger audiences, as viewed with brands like Halo and The Lord of the Rings, which also have kid-friendly toys.
""If you think about it, we could even do an Assassin's Creed game tailored for kids. Imagine a Lego game. It would mean changing a lot of things... I played hours and hours of Lego Lord of the Rings, and you kill people but not kill people, because they're Lego characters."
The games feature two-player Heist that needs constant communication, with a one misstep that is always leading to a failure, mess of steel and bullets.
