Homeland Season 4 Episode 9 Review: The 'There’s Something Else Going Ontario' Has Put The Characters More Or Less Where They Need To Be As The Season Races Toward The Finish Line

Homeland's "There's Something Else Goin On," episode has the uniqueness of showing, after a few weeks of scuffling around in the dark, the TV series has finally shifted and found its higher gear. Between the ill-fated trip home of Carrie in Trylon and Perisphere, Quinn's boozy café fisticuffs and poolside lounging, and Saul is little bit more than a plot tool, although the character fails to use his or her full potential, it has been a challenge for Homeland to struggle with on a regular basis. Durely, Quinn is on a watchdog duty and Saul's character is still with his captivity, but at least the series' ostensible protagonist shows some agency and how the episode succeeds because of it.

The Carrie and Sauls convoy was under attack, and Lockhart playing right into the hands of Haqqani, by sending the Marines out leaving and response the ostensibly defenseless embassy towards the end of the episode. The other shoe lands, in that sense with as much the RPGs concussive force that two SUVs obliterated in the CIA convoy. The end result, while thrilling is something of a double-edged sword that gives some stunning cliffhanger and strong character moments that might be the best season has given. However, in line for the plot in turning and coming together into a plot where the risks are as great as they are ever going to get, the negative effect comes as the C, D and E superfluity plots are more obvious frustratingly.

There has been a lot of treading water to be in this point, and though it seems like Homeland is at a position to pay-off its stakes and primary narrative have been raised effectively as much for the series as they have for Carrie & Co. If season 4 will stay strong, it will have a chance to knock the rating for the next four episodes. Gladly, "There's Something Else Going On," was able to put things in the best probable place they could obtain.
