The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Soundtrack Billy Boyd Returns To Sing The Edge of Night To Bid The Final Goodbye For The Final Hobbit Film

Director Peter Jackson has spent almost two decades bringing to life the Middle Earth on screen. This coming December with The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies release. The film has a musical send-off for the director through, Lord of the Rings actor Billy Boyd. The actor returned to record The Last Goodbye for the final Hobbit film. There is a music video released, to add to Boyd's beautiful song that has memorable moments and a montage of stunning vistas from the entire trilogy of the Lords of the Rings and the new Hobbit movies, at the same time, funny and tender behind the scenes footage are shown. Fans will surely wipe tears from their eyes when they watch this.

Boyd sang in character during The Return of the King entitled The Edge of Night, which for its words adapted from a poem by Tolkien A Walking Song. Fans will surely never forget this. The song has a somber tune which has been used in The Battle of the Five Armies trailer, and bringing Boyd into collaboration on another song is good for this final act of the franchise. Boyd sent an email to Entertainment Weekly to say how he Philippa Boyens and Fran Walsh came up with idea for "The Last Goodbye":

"After seeing the film, I went to my room and I started to put down some ideas, and along with Fran and Philippa, we started to sculpt the song we thought the movie needed. A lot of ideas took us to dead ends or we found the tone wasn't just right. I think we discovered very quickly this wasn't just a song to end 'The Battle of the Five Armies' -it was a song to say goodbye to Middle-earth."

"The Last Goodbye" will be played over The Batlle of the Five Armies and surely fans will cry upon watching the film. The Battle of the Five Armies also promised to bring full actions, climactic filled battle clocking in within 45 minutes.
