The "Switched at Birth" third season may have ended but the show's fans have nothing to worry as Season 4 gets underway. ABC gives a green light for its airing in 2015.

Next year may be a long time to wait. For the meantime, they can look forward to watching the "Switched at Birth" Christmas special, which is slated December 8 at 9pm on ABC Family. Titled "Yuletide Fortune Tellers", this special is so exciting as it will look at the things that should have happened had Bay (played by Vanessa Marano) and Daphne (played by Katie Leclerc) did not switch.

Here's the synopsis:

Christmas is coming in the homes of Bay and Daphne. Bay is annoyed at Kathryn's festive holiday spirit, packed with homemade peanut brittle and Christmas karaoke. Daphne feels the same way with how Regina usual spends Christmas - movies and Chinese food. After the two families spend dinner together, they wake to find out that the switch did not actually happen. Bay is an Olympic hopeful and Daphne is a flourishing artist with a forthcoming exhibit. Can this be true? Or, will things go back to what it used to be?

The ABC show's regular cast includes Vanessa Marano (Bay Kennish), Katie Leclerc (Daphne Vasquez), Lea Thompson (Kathryn Kennish), Constance Marie (Regina Vasquez), Sean Berdy (Emmett Bledsoe), D.W. Moffett (John Kennish), Lucas Grabeel (Toby Kennish), and Gilles Marini (Angelo Sorrento).

Bess Armstrong will join them in "Switched at Birth" Season 4. She will portray the role of pre-med professor of Daphne. The "My So-Called Life" star will be seen in the premiere episode in 2015.

Executive producer and creator Lizzy Weiss tweeted about "more casting news to come soon" last October.

Watch the "Switched at Birth" Christmas special in December 8 at 9pm on ABC Family. For more of Season 4 spoilers and news, keep posted here.
