The Windows 10 latest build was released yesterday, with more tweaks and improvements over the last public build.
9888 is Windows 10's latest build; it's an internal build for the OS and isn't scheduled for public release. WinBeta acquired a copy and offers details on the latest improvements.
In the Windows 10 build publicly available, the context menu for files in File Explorer or Desktop (right-clicked) is different from the Start Menu's default. Build 9888 sets the Start Menu scheme as the default.
The build is evidently a transition from the user interface of Windows 8, as right-clicking a Win32 app displays the default Windows 8.1 scheme.
The Settings app also includes a Search option, currently unfinished and displays the charms search in every query. On top of these Windows 10 latest updates, the current build also features two new animations, for maximizing and minimizing windows and apps.
The animations smoothen transitions between windows and apps, unlike previous builds. Check out the improvements and new features in the video:
The Windows 10 latest news is basically a sneak peek into the next consumer preview, which is expected to be implemented in Windows 10 public builds starting December.
The latest technical build for Windows 10 is 9879. For users who already have the (technical preview) Windows 10 installed, here's how to update your OS to build 9879:
Choose the PC Settings option from the Start Menu, click Update and Recovery, and choose the option for Preview builds. Choose Check Now. A Download button will display if a new build is available.
The first Windows 10 Technical Preview was released October 1, with build 9860 launched early this month. Build 9879 was released last Wednesday (cnet.com).
There's plenty of room to play around with the latest release, with new bugs noticeable in Microsoft's OneDrive feature. Stay tuned for updates on Windows 10 latest build, expected to be released next month.
