Susan Boyle's love life is on a high; at 53, the winner of 2009's "Britain's Got Talent" has found her first boyfriend.
Things are very new in Susan Boyle's love life, but her spokesperson confirms she's definitely happy to have found someone.
Boyle met her new beau (a doctor) during a recent US tour, at a hotel in Clearwater, Florida. In an interview with The Sun newspaper, she describes him as a perfect gentleman, and they enjoyed the time they spent together while she was in the US. Though their relationship is new, she hopes the doctor visits her in Scotland.
Boyle's spokesperson Nicola Phillips confirmed as much. "That's the plan. She met someone when she was in America and the idea is that he can come here."
Her new relationship is also her first. Susan Boyle's rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" from "Les Miserables" won the judges and the audience over on TV's "Britain's Got Talent" way back in 2009. Boyle admitted she has never been kissed at the time.
Boyle earned recognition with exceptional vocals; her performance took everyone by surprise, since she came out uncomfortable and timid on stage, and then she sang. Boyle's success at the talent search was followed by successful single releases.
On top of her successful musical career, Boyle was awarded an honorary doctorate. She's also performed for Pope Benedict XVI and for audiences in Las Vegas. (ap.org)
Boyle's earlier interview recounts her first date with the new boyfriend. "We just got talking in the hotel and I thought he seemed friendly enough. He wasn't a fan but he knew who I was. He invited me out for lunch the next day, we had a nice chat and spoke about lots of things including our careers."
Things are looking great in Susan Boyle's love life, but the singer declines to reveal details on the boyfriend's identity for now.
"I don't want to say any more about who he is right now as that would be unfair on him. All I'll say is we are around the same age and he was a very nice guy." (yahoo.com)
