"Terminator: Genesis" trailer is out today, with a first look at Arnold in his latest incarnation.
The "Terminator: Genesis" trailer is out, with a full tease confirmed to launch today. The very brief trailer is literally a sneak peek of what to expect, and the first impression isn't disappointing. Watch the clip below:
The tease shows Arnold as an old T-800 Terminator materializing on top of a moving police car; the scene is reminiscent of the original film. "Terminator 5: Genesis" is both a sequel and reboot, according to reports, and will probably revive the franchise.
Emilia Clarke of TV's "Game of Thrones" will play Sarah Connor, and Jai Courtney will play Kyle Reese. Fans of the original series of films may be off-put by the plot, though. Set around the same events as the first movie, the fifth installment happens in an alternate timeline.
In "Terminator: Genisys," Sarah Connor is orphaned by a Terminator. Another Terminator, an older T-800, was sent to protect instead of kill her. Sarah considers her protector family and calls him "pops."
Filmmakers released the poster for the film yesterday, a "moving poster" depicting the head shot of a T-800 robot which crumbles into dust.
Other actors included in the "Terminator: Genesis" cast: Matt Smith, Jason Clarke, and Aaron V Williamson, Dayo Okeniyi, Courtney B. Vance, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, and J. K. Simmons (collider.com).
The film is slated for a July 1, 2015 release. Screenrant offers a brief synopsis of the plot, which may confirm reports that the movie is going to be a prequel.
"The year is 2029. John Connor, leader of the resistance continues the war against the machines. At the Los Angeles offensive, John's fears of the unknown future begin to emerge when TECOM spies reveal a new plot by SkyNet that will attack him from both fronts; past and future, and will ultimately change warfare forever."
Alan Taylor ("Thor: the Dark World") directs.
