Street Fighter V A PS4 Exclusive! Leaked Tease Also Reveals The New SF Ports To The PC, Ignores The Xbox! Fans And Insider Cry Third-Party In Outrage; Limited-Time Or Permanent Exclusivity To Be Deter

The latest Street Fighter 5 news doesn't bode well for the franchise.

A leaked trailer reveals Street Fighter V a PS4 exclusive; there's good news for PC fans because the game is also ported for Windows. Tough luck for Xbox 360 and Wii users, though.

The short tease for Street Fighter V has since been removed, but it offers enough details to cause an outrage. The clip shows glimpses of Street Fighter 5 game play, but mostly an explanation of the SFV experience.

The cliffhanger image is the Street Fighter V logo, with a catch: "Exclusively on PS4 and PC." The Street Fighter V release date is still a long way on the horizon, but the early announcement is a disappointment to Xbox fans.

It is speculated the tease is meant to be launched during the Video Game Awards tonight, or the PlayStation Experience over the weekend.

News of the third-party exclusivity raises a lot of eyebrows in the gaming community, as more titles unexpectedly join the trend. Titanfall is a new IP and it banked on exclusivity to maximize its exposure; the Tomb Raider franchise does a disservice to the PlayStation, though. The new release ignores the console in favor of the competition, considering the game debuted and gained a cult following on the PlayStations.

News of the Street Fighter 5 PS4 exclusive wasn't received well, considering the game didn't play favorites in the console wars ever since its first release. Insiders wonder if Capcom's decision will hurt the history in the long run, especially if the trend of third-party exclusivity catches on.

It's yet to be determined if the exclusivity is permanent or applies for a limited period; consoles previously released limited-time exclusives to get a good head start on the competition, and it's probable Capcom and Sony struck the deal to ensure the PlayStation maintains its larger share of the gaming market (source: gameondaily.com)
