The ultrathin Samsung Galaxy A7's release date inches closer, and is a tease of the Samsung S6's specs, according to a report.

Rumors of the Samsung Galaxy A7's release date are updated by a sighting at China's Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center; a report also confirms Samsung's next big device has been certified by the TENAA.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 specs are expected to bump up the Galaxy S5, but its outstanding feature to date is its ultrathin build. At 6.3mm, the A7 will be half a millimeter thinner than the already super-slim Samsung Galaxy Alpha.

Currently the specs of the A7 are standard fare, and it's not even installed with Android Lollipop. This may change as the device goes under production and release, though.

Samsung Galaxy A7 specs will carry the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat, with a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor (1.5Ghz, octa-core), with a 2GB RAM to boot. Internal storage is at 16GB, with microSD support yet to be confirmed.

In terms of display, the A7 will pack 1080p in a 5.5-inch screen, with 12 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front. The new phone follows on the trend of Samsung's A series, targeting the higher-midrange in specs and a sleek, all-metal design.

Samsung is expectedly quiet about the leak, but insiders speculate the trend of features and release of the A3 and A5 sets the timing just right for the A7.

The Samsung Galaxy A7's release date is expected to be announced soon, with the Samsung Galaxy S6 on the horizon. A report claims the A7 hints clues to what the S6 will offer, particularly in terms of design and build.

Alleged specs for the Samsung Galaxy S6 have surfaced online, with a 20-megapixel front camera, 64-bit Octa-core Exynos 7420 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.

The update on the S6 lines up with last month's rumors on specs, but Samsung has yet to confirm these.
